The vineyard (terroir)

The Clos Badon Thunevin vineyard covers an area of 5.8 hectares. It is situated at the foot of the slopes on the côte Pavie. The soils consist of sandy gravel. The average age of the vines is 20 years. The grape varieties comprise 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc. Soil management is traditional across approximately 90% of the vineyard and entirely mechanical. Green manures have been sown during the winter months since the 2000s. The harvest is 100% manual.

Flagship cuvées

The estate's main cuvée is Clos Badon-Thunevin. This still red wine undergoes extended barrel ageing. Its average production is around 15,000 bottles.

Vinification and ageing

The berries undergo densimetric sorting on an AMOS Tribaie line. The vat room was partly upgraded in 2018 with the addition of rectangular vats. The wines are aged in wood for 18 to 22 months in new French oak barrels. The ageing cellar was renovated in 2016/2017.
