History and philosophy

The history of Château Bellegrave dates back to 1951, when Jean-Marie Bouldy's father acquired the property. Jean-Marie Bouldy took over the running of the estate in 1980. The property committed to organic viticulture in the early 2000s, achieving official organic certification in 2012.

Appellations

Château Bellegrave produces wines under the Pomerol appellation. The estate also crafts other cuvées across different appellations, such as Château des Jacobins (Pomerol) and Château Matignon (Saint Émilion).

Winemaking and ageing

Grapes are harvested by hand, followed by rigorous sorting on advanced sorting tables. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats. Maceration lasts approximately three weeks. The wines are aged for 20 to 22 months in Allier oak barrels, sourced notably from the Tronçais forest.
