Before being taken over by the Ballande family, the estate belonged to the Texier family, who expanded the vineyard from 4 to 22 hectares in a single decade. Château Palais Cardinal has been committed to avoiding chemical products and weedkillers across its plots for over fifteen years. The estate achieved Terra Vitis certification in 2018. Agroforestry initiatives have also been introduced, including 400 metres of hedgerows planted around the vineyard parcels.
