History and Philosophy

The current estate originated from the division of Château Soutard, having been separated around 1850. It was acquired in 2017 by AG2R La Mondiale. The property implements agroecological practices throughout the management of its vineyard.

The Vineyard (Terroir)

The vineyard covers a planted area of 8 hectares. It is established on the Saint-Émilion limestone plateau, featuring clay-limestone soils along with sandy soils at the foot of the slopes. The average age of the vines is 27 years. The grape variety distribution is dominated by Merlot (90% or 65% depending on sources), complemented by Cabernet Franc (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%). Harvesting is carried out by hand. The estate does not purchase external grapes and adopts sustainable, integrated viticultural practices (lutte raisonnée).

Vinification and Ageing

The wines are aged in new oak barrels, with 50% renewed each year. Michel Rolland serves as consulting oenologist for the estate.
