Identity

Château Plagnac is located in the commune of Bégadan, in the Gironde département. Since 2018, it has been owned by Laurent Gauzi and Romain Roux, who hail from a family of winegrowers and négociants from Entre-deux-Mers. Jean-Jacques Lapeyre manages the estate. Instantly recognisable by its three towers, Château Plagnac was classified as a Cru Bourgeois as early as 1932.

History and philosophy

The recent history of Château Plagnac has seen several changes of ownership. Acquired in 2011 by Vignobles Lapalu, the winegrowing estate was bought in 2016 by Antoine Moueix Propriétés, before being sold to Laurent Gauzi and Romain Roux in 2018. The estate is guided by a philosophy rooted in respect for the terroir, combining tradition with innovation.

The vineyard (terroir)

Flagship cuvées

Château Plagnac produces a still red wine under the Médoc appellation. The principal cuvée, named CHÂTEAU PLAGNAC, comes from the vineyard's oldest parcels.
