The vineyard (terroir)
Château Robin's vineyard covers 11.5 hectares, divided into seven main south-east-facing parcels. The soils are predominantly clay-limestone, with bedrock and iron pan (crasse de fer) in places, alongside areas of clay, flint, and limestone.
The grape varieties are predominantly Merlot (80%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (10%), Cabernet Sauvignon (8%), and Malbec (2%). Harvesting is carried out by hand.
Signature cuvées
Château Robin offers red wines described as powerful, deeply coloured, and elegant. They are characterised by aromas of red and black fruit, as well as violet. The tannic structure is present yet well-integrated, yielding fresh wines with notable ageing potential. Château Robin 2019, for example, is crafted from a blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Malbec. The overall style is quintessentially Bordeaux, delivering balanced and silky wines.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes undergo an initial sorting during picking, followed by a second sort in the cellar. They are then destemmed and 80% crushed. Vinification is traditional and takes place in temperature-controlled concrete vats. The wines are aged entirely (100%) in oak barrels, one-third of which are renewed each year.
