The vineyard (terroir)
The Château Roquebert vineyard extends over an area of 5 hectares. The vines, with an average age of around forty years, are planted on clay-limestone soils. The terroir benefits from a full southern exposure on rolling hilltops. The estate's grape varieties are predominantly Merlot (90%), complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) and Malbec (2%).
Flagship cuvées
The estate notably produces the Château Roquebert cuvée, a red wine blended primarily from Merlot, occasionally complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The "Nature de Roquebert" cuvée is also a red wine from the estate, sourced from parcels located in Côtes de Castillon (80%) and Côtes de Cadillac (20%).
Vinification and ageing
Harvesting at Château Roquebert is carried out by machine, preceded by leaf-thinning and a green harvest. Selected cuvées are aged in oak barrels.
