Identity
Château Tertre de Belvès is a winegrowing estate owned by the Sulzer family, located in the commune of Belvès-de-Castillon.
History and philosophy
The estate was taken over by Olivier Sulzer in 1996, succeeding his father, François Sulzer. The Sulzer family’s origins date back to 1834 with the founding of a company initially focused on cast iron production and mechanical engineering, which gradually diversified over the decades. The industrial branch, Sulzer, expanded significantly, introducing steam engines as early as 1851 and branching out into various sectors such as refrigeration machinery and compressors. Over the years, the company underwent several reorganisations and acquisitions, notably in medical technology and industrial pumps, before focusing on fluid engineering.
