Official estate websiteThe vineyard (terroir)
The Clos Junet vineyard covers around 2 hectares. The soils are made up of ancient sands with subsoil veins of red clay. This terroir is situated in the Berthonneau area, to the west of the Saint-Émilion limestone plateau. The grape varieties are Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (30%), and Malbec (5%). The average age of the vines is 35 years. The estate does not practise biodynamics.
Signature cuvées
The estate's principal cuvée is Clos Junet, a still red wine. The blend may vary, primarily highlighting Merlot and Cabernet Franc. For instance, the 2010 and 2013 vintages were blended with 70% Merlot alongside Cabernet Franc. For the 2022 vintage, a good third of Cabernet Franc is included. This wine is shaped by oak barrel ageing.
