Identity

Château Jaron is a winegrowing estate located in Landerrouat, in the Gironde department. It is owned by Vignobles Comin-Libératore, a family business that has cultivated vines for several generations. The estate is managed by Philippe Libératore and Caroline Comin.

History and Philosophy

The Comin-Libératore family has been cultivating vines at Château Jaron for more than four generations. Philippe Libératore took over the family estate in 1994, and Caroline Comin joined the business in 2003, the year EARL Vignobles Comin-Libératore was established. Winemaking facilities were upgraded and the cellar was expanded in 2010. The first bottling under the Château Jaron label took place in 2012, the same year a cellar-door shop was established. Jar ageing was introduced in 2013. In 2019, a reception and tasting room was created, followed by a function room in 2021. The estate was awarded the Vignobles et Découvertes label in 2021 and committed in 2022 to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative "BORDEAUX CULTIVONS DEMAIN".

Appellations

Winemaking and Ageing

Château Jaron uses jars for ageing some of its wines, a practice introduced at the estate in 2013. The Giara (Merlot) and Absolument TANNAT (Tannat) cuvées are aged in jars. These 18 jars each have a capacity of 140 to 150 litres.
