History and Philosophy
The history of Château L'Évangile dates back to the mid-18th century, when it was known as Fazilleau. In 1862, Paul Chaperon undertook the construction of the current Second Empire-style château. In 1990, the estate was acquired by the Rothschild family, marking a new chapter for the property. In 2004, a new vat room and an underground cellar were brought into service, modernising the winemaking facilities. Since 2018, vineyard management has been oriented towards organic farming, leading to organic certification in 2021 (AB / Euro-leaf). The château is also B Corp certified.
