History and Philosophy
Château la Garelle was acquired in 2018 by Maison Younan, which was founded in 2016. The estate is also known as Château Zaya. Maison Younan has acquired other wine estates as well, including Château La Croix Younan in 2016 (formerly Château la Croix Fourney) and Château Ascumbas in 2022. Since late 2020, Ludovic Perez has overseen technical operations. In 2022, the vinification and ageing cellars underwent a complete renovation. Starting in 2024, the estate benefits from viticultural consulting provided by HUBERT DE BOUARD Consulting. The estate is certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE).

Flagship Cuvées
Among the estate's cuvées are Château Zaya and Zaya Blanc. The estate also produces the cuvée Les Jardins du Château Zaya. The wines crafted at Château la Garelle are aged in 100% new oak barrels. The average annual production is around 250 hectolitres. The Maison Younan portfolio also includes Château La Croix Younan, Excellence de La Croix Younan, Icône de La Croix Younan, El Septimo Blanc, El Septimo Rouge, La Croix Fourney and Ascumbas Vinus rouge.
Vinification and Ageing
Vinification takes place in concrete and stainless steel vats. Ageing is carried out in 100% new oak barrels.
