The vineyard (terroir)

The vineyard of Château La Grâce Dieu Les Menuts spans 15 hectares in the heart of Saint-Émilion. The plots are located to the west on gravelly rises bordering Château Figeac and Château Cheval Blanc, and to the east of the medieval town of Saint-Émilion on the clay-limestone plateau of Les Menuts. The soils are predominantly clay-limestone. The grape varieties comprise 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The average vine age is 40 years. Vineyard work is carried out entirely by hand, including manual leaf-thinning and meticulous soil management. The estate is ISO 14001 certified through the Bordeaux Wine EMS (SME) association.

The estate's principal wine is Château La Grâce Dieu Les Menuts. This wine is renowned for its complexity and structure, combining power, finesse, and elegance. The estate also crafts the Château Haut Troquart La Grâce Dieu cuvée. Magnums of Château La Grâce Dieu Les Menuts are available for selected vintages.

Vinification and ageing

Harvesting is carried out by hand, with rigorous grape selection and sorting. Vinification takes place in concrete vats. Ageing of Château La Grâce Dieu Les Menuts is conducted in French oak barrels and vats. Approximately 50% of the production is aged in new oak barrels, 30% in one-wine barrels or older, and 20% in vats. The entire crop is bottled at the château. Average annual production is around 90,000 bottles.
