The history of Château Laniote dates back to 1816, when it was founded by Pierre Lacoste. The estate has remained within the same family lineage ever since, handed down over nearly two centuries and across nine generations. This transmission occurred from mother to daughter for seven generations, spanning the Lacoste, Rouja, Freymond, Schneider, and La Filolie families. The château’s historical heritage is remarkable, including a 13th-century chapel, the hermitage where Saint Émilion lived, and part of the catacombs, all listed as Historic Monuments. The estate is committed to sustainable viticulture, certified by Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE).
