The Vineyard (Terroir)
The Château Layauga-Duboscq vineyard covers an area of 7 hectares. The first vines acquired in 1994 represented 2 hectares. Certain parcels are located in Gaillan. For the Cuvée Renaissance, the vine age is estimated at between forty and fifty years. The soils for the 2008 Cuvée Renaissance consist of alios (iron-pan sandstone), sand, clay, and fine gravel. The grape varieties for the 2011 Cuvée Renaissance include Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot.
