Winemaking and ageing

For the Château Lezongars red, ageing takes place in oak barrels for approximately four months. The Spécial Cuvée du Château Lezongars undergoes eighteen months of barrel ageing.

Château Lezongars Blanc is aged on its fine lees for three weeks, with regular bâtonnage (lees stirring) two to three times a week. The Château Lezongars Cuvée Spéciale and Château Lezongars L'Enclos cuvées are aged in concrete and stainless steel vats.
