History and philosophy
The estate was founded in the late 17th century. Its history has been shaped by its succession through three main families over the centuries. In 1850, Virginie de Pichon Longueville and her two sisters inherited three-fifths of the vineyard. The Pichon Longueville family managed the estate until 1925, when it was acquired by Édouard and Louis Miailhe. May-Éliane de Lencquesaing, daughter of Édouard Miailhe, played a pivotal role from 1978 onwards. In 2007, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande was purchased by the Rouzaud family, who also own Champagne Roederer. The practice of crafting a second wine, recorded in the archives as early as 1890 (notably for an 1874 vintage sent to Moscow), was reintroduced in 1973.

Record-Breaking $2.65 Million Raised at 47th Annual l'Eté du Vin for the Fight Against Cancer
La 47e édition annuelle de l'Eté du Vin, organisée par la Nashville Wine Auction, a permis de récolter plus de 2,65 millions de dollars pour la lutte contre le cancer.
