The vineyard (terroir)

The Château Plaisance vineyard spans 17 hectares. The soils are predominantly sandy-clay. The grape varieties planted consist of 80% Merlot, complemented by 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Flagship cuvées

The estate's flagship cuvée, Château Plaisance, is a still red wine. This blend is aged in both vats and oak barrels, enhancing its structure and aromatic profile. Annual production reaches around 73,000 bottles. It is best served between 16°C and 18°C. In terms of ageing potential, a vintage such as 2016 offers an optimal drinking window between 2021 and 2027. This wine pairs well with dishes such as game, red meats, or a selection of cheeses.

Vinification and ageing

Ageing at Château Plaisance is carried out in both vats and oak barrels, an approach designed to lend complexity to the wines while preserving fresh fruit expression.
