Identity

Château Pomys is a winegrowing estate located in the commune of Saint-Estèphe in Gironde. It is owned by Michel Reybier.

History and Philosophy

The history of Château Pomys is closely linked to that of the Arnaud family, who owned the property before parting with it in 1951. Earlier, in 1791, Louis Gaspard d'Estournel inherited the estate.

The Appellations

Château Pomys produces wines under the Saint-Estèphe appellation, crafted from parcels located in the Médoc.

Winemaking and Ageing

Winemaking for the red wine of Château Pomys begins with meticulous grape sorting, followed by complete destemming. The cuvées undergo long macerations and temperature-controlled fermentation. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels (one-quarter new) for a period of 12 to 15 months.
