The estate's family history spans four generations, with roots in Civrac de Blaye. In 2001, the family holdings were merged, leading to the creation of Vignobles Gagné & Barrat in 2002. The winegrowing estate is committed to an environmentally friendly approach, achieving Organic farming certification in 2010 via Ecocert and Haute Valeur Environnementale (Level 3) certification in 2017 through Bureau Véritas. This philosophy is reflected in various initiatives, including planting hedges and trees, creating water features, installing bat nesting boxes, and banning weedkillers, chemical fertilisers, and synthetic pesticides.
Appellations
The estate produces wines under the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. It also crafts white wines under the Bordeaux blanc AOP appellation.
