The Vineyard (Terroir)

The Château Saint-Jacques Calon vineyard is situated on the Butte des Moulins de Calon, reaching an altitude of 114 metres and benefiting from favourable sun exposure. The estate is distinguished by the presence of two of the appellation's five windmills.

Flagship Cuvées

The estate produces red wines. Among its cuvées, "Montagne Saint-Émilion Cuvée des Moulins" is crafted predominantly from the Merlot grape variety. With an annual production of around 4,000 bottles, this cuvée is aged in both vats and barrels. Another cuvée, "Grande Réserve Élevé en fût de chêne neuf", is made entirely from Merlot, with 18 months of oak barrel ageing. Approximately 1,800 bottles of this cuvée are produced.

Vinification and Ageing

Ageing for the wines of Château Saint-Jacques Calon takes place in vats and barrels for the Cuvée des Moulins. The Grande Réserve cuvée benefits from 18 months of ageing in oak barrels.
