Château Saint-Michel is a winegrowing estate. Its name pays tribute to Michel Lynch, mayor of Pauillac in the 18th century and a prominent figure in Bordeaux viticulture.

History and philosophy

The name Michel Lynch was chosen for this wine estate by Jean-Michel Cazes as part of a commitment to promoting winemaking heritage. The estate perpetuates a tradition of crafting sweet white wines within the Sauternes appellation.

Flagship cuvées

The primary cuvée, Michel Lynch, is a sweet white wine. It is characterised by aromas of ripe yellow fruit such as apricot and almond, alongside tropical notes of mango and pineapple. Touches of honey, acacia and floral nuances can also be perceived. On the palate, the wine offers lovely concentration; it is aromatic, round and unctuous, with notes of vanilla, peach, candied fruit, cinnamon and honey. It is generally crafted to be enjoyed within 5 to 8 years. Serving at a temperature of around 8°C is recommended.

Vinification and ageing

Ageing of the Michel Lynch cuvée takes place in stainless steel vats.
