Identity

Domaine de Grandmaison is situated in the commune of Léognan in the Gironde. The Bouquier family has owned the estate since 1939. François Bouquier began working here in 1988, joined by Mayi Bouquier in 1993, and later by Rémi Lartigue in 2014.

History and philosophy

Domaine de Grandmaison is a family winegrowing estate whose viticultural history began in 1939, when the vineyard came into the family's hands. Jean and Françoise Bouquier are the historical owners who rebuilt the property. Over the generations, a dedicated team has been established to sustain the estate's activity and its commitment to crafting wines in the Pessac-Léognan and Graves appellations.

Practical information

Domaine de Grandmaison is located at 182 Avenue de la Duragne, 33850 Léognan. The cellar is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00, as well as on Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 14:30 to 18:00. The estate is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Tours and tastings are available, and wine can be purchased directly at the property. Visits are possible from Monday to Saturday without an appointment, except for groups of more than 10 people, for whom booking is required. The estate is accessible to people with reduced mobility. English, Spanish, and French are spoken on-site.

The vineyard (terroir)

The vineyard at Domaine de Grandmaison covers a total area of 18.84 hectares. Red grape varieties account for 14.09 hectares, while 4.75 hectares are devoted to white grape varieties.

The grape varieties for the red wines comprise 57% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 19% Cabernet Franc. For the white wines, the planting consists of 72% Sauvignon, 12% Sémillon, and 16% Sauvignon gris.

Signature cuvées

The estate produces red and white wines. Domaine de Grandmaison Rouge 2019 is one of the estate's cuvées. Average production stands at 84,000 bottles of red wine and 18,000 bottles of white wine.
