The terroir

The Graves de Vayres appellation is situated on the right bank of the Dordogne, in the Entre-deux-Mers region. Its vineyard lies on gravel and clay-sand soils, deposited by the river over millennia. This geological composition fosters optimal natural drainage and allows traditional grape varieties to fully express their character. The temperate oceanic climate, moderated by the river's influence, contributes to the gradual ripening of the grapes and to the balance of the wines crafted in this historic terroir.

The wines

Graves de Vayres produces red wines, dry whites and, more rarely, sweet wines. The red wines are predominantly crafted from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, delivering a supple structure with red fruit aromas. The dry white wines are made from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, distinguished by their freshness and floral, fruity notes. These wines stand out for their harmony and can be enjoyed in their youth or after a few years of ageing.

Food pairing

Red Graves de Vayres wines pair ideally with grilled red meats, dishes in sauce, and roast poultry. Their roundness and integrated tannins also make them a great match for soft cheeses. Thanks to their crispness, the dry whites are well suited to seafood, grilled or sauced fish, and mixed salads. They also make a delightful aperitif, offering a refreshing introduction to any meal.
