History and philosophy
Château Bastoney is believed to have been founded approximately in the 14th century, a period that also corresponds to the construction of its cellars and outbuildings. In 1752, the main house was modernised. The estate was awarded a silver medal at the Exposition Internationale de Lyon in 1914. The Trondalen family acquired the property in 2016. A restoration of the Maison de Maître and the chapel was completed in 2018. The vineyard underwent extensive restructuring over the forty years leading up to 2016. Château Bastoney is dedicated to an environmentally friendly approach and the crafting of quality wines. It is Terra Vitis certified.

Vinification and ageing
For red wines, the ageing of cuvées such as Château Bastoney Rouge takes place in underground concrete vats for up to 20 months, complemented by bottle ageing for around 3 months. Chapelle Rouge de Bastoney and the Clariet de Bordeaux are aged in concrete vats, the Clariet for 4 months.
For Chapelle Blanche de Bastoney, vinification includes an 18-hour skin contact maceration before alcoholic fermentation, which takes place at low temperatures.
The Crémants de Bordeaux, whether Brut or Rosé Brut, benefit from ageing on laths for at least 15 months, and up to 24 months.
