Its south-east to north-west exposure ensures optimal sunshine. The soils are varied, with pure clay on the upper slopes, sandy-clay to clay-sand in the mid-section, and very gravelly soils on the lower slopes, all resting on a clay subsoil. The average age of the vines is 35 years. The grape varieties consist of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Soil management is carried out through ploughing and harrowing. Canopy management (green harvesting) is performed entirely by hand.
