Château Clare is a winegrowing estate located in the commune of Landiras, in Gironde. It is owned by Fleur and Thierry Carreyre, with Thierry Carreyre also acting as the estate's winemaker.
History and philosophy
Château Clare boasts a history dating back to 1733. The estate has been managed by the Carreyre family for several generations, with Thierry Carreyre representing the fifth. Since his arrival in 1991, Thierry Carreyre has overseen the development of the vineyard, expanding its surface area from 9 to 15 hectares. The estate is dedicated to environmental stewardship and quality, as demonstrated by obtaining Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) Level 3 certification in 2019.

Château Clare is located in Landiras. The cellar door is open from Monday to Saturday, from 8 am to 7 pm, as well as on Sundays and bank holidays, from 9 am to 12 pm. These free-draining gravels ensure a balanced water supply to the vines, supplemented underground by the springs of Budos. The vineyard enjoys a distinctive setting, sheltered by the Landiras forest, which protects it from Atlantic winds. This woodland environment also fosters biodiversity. The grape varieties grown include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle.
Flagship cuvées
Château Clare offers a range of distinct cuvées. For red wines, these notably include Cuvée Louis and Cuvée Beaupin, crafted from the region's traditional grape varieties. In white, the Graves Blanc Sec, a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, delivers a fresh and well-balanced aromatic profile. A rosé wine, Fleur de Clare Rosé, is also produced. The estate additionally offers some of its wines in Bag-in-Box, notably in red, white and rosé.
