History & Philosophy
The history of Château d'Arsac dates back to the 12th century. Among its former owners were the Lords of Arsac and Thomas de Montaigne in the 16th century. Following the phylloxera crisis, the estate fell into disrepair.
In 1986, Philippe Raoux acquired the property. Since 1990, the estate has championed contemporary art sponsorship, creating a Sculpture Garden showcasing works by artists such as Bernard Pagès, Jean-Michel Folon, Niki de Saint Phalle, Bernar Venet, and Susumu Shingu.
Château d'Arsac was awarded the distinction of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in 2020.

The estate produces wines under several appellations: 54 hectares are dedicated to AOC Margaux, 32 hectares to AOC Haut-Médoc, and 4 hectares to AOC Bordeaux Blanc Sauvignon.
