The Château d'Escurac vineyard lies on a clay-gravel ridge, peaking at an altitude of 15 metres in Civrac. The soils are predominantly composed of clayey gravel. In 2016, the grape variety plantings comprised 45% Merlot, 45% Cabernet-Sauvignon, along with small proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. An earlier 2004 source recorded 60% Cabernet-Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, with the Cabernet-Sauvignon planted on gravel and the Merlot on clay. In 2000, the blend of grape varieties was 60% Cabernet-Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, grown on clay-gravel and clay-limestone soils. The estate does not purchase external grapes.
