Château du Cros is a family-owned winegrowing estate held by the Boyer family for four generations. Catherine Boyer is the estate's winegrower.
History and Philosophy
The history of Château du Cros dates back to the 12th century, with its foundation around 1250, traditionally authorised by Richard the Lionheart. An 18th-century chartreuse completes the estate's architectural heritage.
Château du Cros has been committed to an environmental approach since 2012. This commitment culminated in 2018 with the achievement of level 3 Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certification. The estate was also awarded the Vignobles et Découvertes wine tourism label in 2021.

Practical Information
The Château du Cros tasting and sales room is open Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 17:30. In July and August, opening hours are extended from 10:00 to 18:30. Weekend visits are by appointment.
The estate offers a complimentary tour of the cellars followed by a tasting of three wines. A self-guided walking trail leading to the Vieux Château du Cros is also accessible free of charge for adults. For groups, walking tours (self-guided or guided) can be paired with tastings, with prices available on request. Themed, educational food and wine pairing workshops are organised by appointment. Priced at €40 for two people, these workshops offer a choice between tasting three white wines, three sweet dessert wines, three red wines, or three colours, accompanied by paired culinary bites.

The Vineyard (Terroir)
The Château du Cros vineyard extends across a limestone plateau, located approximately 40 km south of Bordeaux.
Among the grape varieties grown, a plot of Sémillon is particularly remarkable for its age, exceeding 110 years. Three white grape varieties are used to craft the estate's white wines.
Flagship Cuvées
The estate offers various cuvées, such as Château du Cros Loupiac, which was awarded by the Guide Hachette for its 2020 vintage. Other cuvées include Prélude Gourmand Loupiac, Galets de L. Graves Rouge, Mayne du Cros Graves Rouge, and Mayne du Cros Graves Blanc.
