Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux is located in the commune of Moulis-en-Médoc, in Gironde. The winegrowing estate is currently owned by Jean-Baptiste and Nathalie Cordonnier. It is classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.

History and Philosophy

The history of Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux dates back to 1868, the year of its first recorded mention. In 1967, François Cordonnier acquired the property and expanded the vineyard from 11 to 28 hectares. In 1993, the estate was handed over to his four nephews, the same year a new cellar was built. In 2016, François Cordonnier, his son, took over the management of the property. In 2022, Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux launched its "Pur" range, designed as a pure, transparent expression of fruit and terroir.

The estate is dedicated to environmentally friendly viticulture, as evidenced by its HVE3 certification and ongoing conversion to organic farming.

The Vineyard (Terroir)

The vineyard of Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux covers an area of 31 hectares. Vinification and Ageing

Harvesting is carried out mechanically. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats, with maceration lasting between 17 and 25 days. For cuvées intended for ageing, maturation takes place in French oak barrels for 18 months. The barrel programme typically consists of one-third new oak, one-third one-wine barrels, and one-third two-wine barrels.

Les Afterbeach en Médoc sont de retour pour leur 9ème saison, du 11 juin au 10 septembre 2026, tous les mercredis et jeudis de 17h à 21h. Ces événements, organisés par les offices de tourisme Médoc plein Sud et Médoc Atlantique, proposent une expérience gourmande et authentique au cœur des vignobles médocains. Chaque semaine, deux châteaux viticoles ouvrent leurs portes pour des visites commentées par les propriétaires ou leurs équipes, permettant de découvrir le savoir-faire viticole du Médoc. Le programme inclut des dégustations de vins des domaines participants ainsi que des planches apéritives et gourmandes composées de charcuterie, fromages et diverses spécialités. L'ambiance est décrite comme chaleureuse et décontractée, idéale pour prolonger une journée estivale.
