Identity
Château Ferrasse is owned by the Massarin family. Émile Massarin founded the estate in 1952. Francis Massarin and his son Laurent Massarin are the current owners and winegrowers, representing the family's third and fourth generations. The estate is situated in the commune of Castillon-la-Bataille, in Gironde.
History and philosophy
The history of Château Ferrasse began in 1952 with the acquisition of around ten hectares of vines by Émile Massarin. In 1957, the family expanded its winegrowing activity by acquiring Château Terre Blanche, located in Saint-Genès-de-Castillon.
Family transmission continued with Francis Massarin and later Laurent Massarin, who joined the estate in 2006. The property has developed an environmentally friendly approach to viticulture. In 2011, it obtained Area environmental certification for sustainable farming in Aquitaine. In 2013, Château Ferrasse was awarded the “Bienvenue à la ferme” quality label and unveiled a new vinification cellar.

Practical information
Visitors are welcome at Château Ferrasse, situated in Castillon-la-Bataille. In winter, tastings and wine purchases are available by appointment. From early May to late October, the estate opens its doors on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 10 am to 6 pm.
