History and philosophy
The origins of Château Larose-Perganson date back to the 18th century, founded by Jean-Pierre de Pontet in 1719. Originally named Pontet-Perganson, the estate saw its château built in 1884 by Count Ernest de Lahens. After disappearing from wine labels in the 1910s and suffering a fire between the two World Wars, the vineyard was revived in 1996.
Vignobles de Larose was acquired by Allianz in 1986. The estate is committed to environmental responsibility, holding Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and ISO 14001 certifications since 2003. Organic conversion is currently underway. Viticultural practices exclude the use of chemical weedkillers and synthetic pesticides.

Vinification and ageing

Médoc : aux Vignobles de Larose, des chais du XXIe siècle
Les Vignobles de Larose, situés à Saint-Laurent-Médoc et dirigés par Franck Bijon, ont achevé la construction de nouveaux chais, l'un des plus grands chantiers viticoles du Bordelais. Lancés en 2021, ces chais modernes ont été conçus pour la vinification du millésime 2023. Le projet vise à améliorer la qualité des vins grâce à une gestion parcellaire et des vinifications plus précises, tout en respectant l'environnement et en assurant le bien-être du personnel. Les installations comprennent des cuviers dédiés pour les propriétés Larose-Trintaudon (190 ha, cru bourgeois supérieur) et Larose-Perganson (20 ha, cru bourgeois supérieur), ainsi que des chais à barriques climatisés. Le groupe, propriété d'Allianz, inclut également le Château Arnaud (17 ha, cru bourgeois exceptionnel près de Margaux) et La Tour de Pez (une vingtaine d'hectares en AOC Saint-Estèphe, cru bourgeois). Les nouvelles infrastructures intègrent un système tubulaire de refroidissement de la vendange, essentiel face au réchauffement climatique, et un chai expérimental pour les micro-vinifications de nouveaux cépages. Engagés dans une démarche de Responsabilité Sociétale des Entreprises (RSE), les Vignobles de Larose n'utilisent ni désherbant ni pesticide de synthèse, sont en conversion bio, utilisent des matériaux écologiques, et optimisent leur consommation d'énergie et d'eau grâce à des sous-compteurs et des panneaux photovoltaïques. Le bien-être des 64 salariés a également été une priorité, avec des espaces de travail lumineux, des plateformes sécurisées, une isolation phonique, une salle à manger moderne et une salle de sport. Un espace de réception de 650 m² est prévu pour 2024, et l'inauguration de l'ensemble, dont le coût s'élève à 25 millions d'euros, est attendue pour 2025.
