The Château Le Tros vineyard covers a total area of 54 hectares. The parcels are spread across the communes of Tizac-de-Curton, Génissac, Naujan, and Postiac. For the white wines, the soil is clay-limestone. The estate devotes 6 hectares to white wine production.
Flagship cuvées
Château Le Tros crafts a diverse range of wines, including reds, rosés, dry whites, sweet whites, and sparkling crémants. Key cuvées include Château Le Tros, particularly in rosé, and Cuvée du Tros, a Crémant de Bordeaux.
Vinification and ageing
Cuvée du Tros is crafted from Sémillon. The harvest is carried out by hand, with grapes transported in small crates. Pressing is gentle, yielding 100 litres of juice per 150 kg of grapes. Vinification takes place at low temperatures, followed by natural fermentation and 9 months of bottle ageing in the underground cellars of Cloître des Cordeliers. For still wines, ageing can last from 12 to 16 months. The cellar is equipped with stainless steel tanks, concrete vats, and Bordeaux barrels, with a 6,500-litre capacity for the stainless steel tanks.
