Crémant de Bordeaux
44 estates listed in the Crémant de Bordeaux appellation (Bordeaux & Bordeaux Supérieur)
Crémant de Bordeaux is a sparkling wine produced using the traditional method across the Bordeaux wine region.

The terroir
The Crémant de Bordeaux appellation covers the entire Bordeaux vineyard area. The plots designated for Crémant production can be found across various soil types characteristic of the region, such as clay-limestone, gravel, and sandy soils. A wide range of grape varieties is permitted—including Sémillon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscadelle, Sauvignon Blanc, and Ugni Blanc—yielding a rich diversity of expressions.
The wines
Crémants de Bordeaux are crafted using the traditional method, undergoing a second fermentation in the bottle. They are produced as both white and rosé wines, predominantly dry. The white wines reveal aromas of white orchard fruit and citrus, occasionally complemented by floral or brioche notes. The rosés stand out with hints of red berry fruit. These sparkling wines are characterised by a delicate effervescence and a refined freshness on the palate, reflecting the diversity of the grape varieties used.
Food pairings
Crémant de Bordeaux makes an excellent aperitif. Its structure also allows it to accompany cold starters, such as seafood, fish terrines, or delicate charcuterie. White Crémants pair wonderfully with fish in light sauces or poultry dishes. Rosés complement mixed salads and red berry-based desserts, offering wonderful versatility at the table.
