Château Paveil de Luze, a family-owned estate since 1862, is a 32-hectare winegrowing property in Margaux, classified as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. It produces red wines in the Margaux and Bordeaux appellations, following sustainable viticulture practices.

History and Philosophy
The history of the Château Paveil de Luze vineyard dates back to the 17th century, when the Seigneurs de Bretonneau owned the property until the end of the 18th century. In 1862, Baron Alfred de Luze acquired the estate, which has remained in the family ever since. Across the generations, six to seven generations have succeeded one another at the helm of the estate. In 1956, an exceptionally harsh winter destroyed a large part of the vineyard, but from 1960 onwards, Baron Geoffroy de Luze undertook its reconstruction. Frédéric de Luze has managed the estate since 2004.
Château Paveil de Luze is committed to an environmentally friendly, sustainable viticulture approach, encompassing water management, winery wastewater and phytosanitary effluent treatment, as well as soil de-compaction. The estate was awarded Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel status in February 2020.
Appellations
The wines of Château Paveil de Luze are produced under the Margaux and Bordeaux appellations. The estate is recognised as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in the Margaux appellation.

The estate also produces Petit Paveil, its second wine, as well as a Bordeaux blanc and a Bordeaux Pont Rouge du Paveil.
