The Vineyard (Terroir)
The vineyard spans a planted surface area of 50 hectares, of which 46.5 hectares are dedicated to red grape varieties and 3.5 hectares to white varieties. The average vine age is 35 years. Soils consist of clay-limestone and gravel.
The red grape variety plantings are as follows: Merlot (75%), Cabernet Franc (15%), Cabernet-Sauvignon (5%), and Malbec (5%).
For the white varieties, the vineyard is planted with Sauvignon blanc (60%), Sémillon (20%), and Sauvignon gris (20%).
Harvesting is carried out mechanically.
Flagship Cuvées
The estate produces a diverse range of wines. Among the reds, the Bordeaux Supérieur Tradition cuvée is characterised by the fruit-forward profile of young vines and the body lent by the gravel soils. The Rouge Natur cuvée, crafted via low-temperature fermentation with infusion maceration, offers pure fruit character with fine-grained tannins on the finish. The Cabernet Franc cuvée is sourced from vines originating from a massal selection carried out in Pomerol on centenarian vines. Other red cuvées include 56 Malbec, La Fleur Penin Saint Emilion Grand Cru, Les Cailloux, and Grande Sélection.
Among the white wines, the Cabanes cuvée reveals hints of peach and pineapple, crisp tension, and a mineral finish.
The estate also crafts a Rosé, marked by lovely freshness, subtle structure, tension, and vibrant energy. The Clairet delivers a basket of fresh red berry fruit, freshness, a delicate structure on the palate, and a pleasing saline finish.
Vinification & Ageing
Certain cuvées are aged on full lees with regular stirring (bâtonnage). For the Rouge Natur cuvée, vinification is carried out via low-temperature fermentation with a 20-day infusion maceration and virtually no pump-overs. Sterile filtration is applied to select cuvées, such as the Bordeaux Supérieur Tradition.
