The vineyard (terroir)

The Château Pibran vineyard extends over 17 hectares. Originally, the estate comprised 10 hectares. The soils consist of Garonne gravel on a rise located north of the appellation, near properties such as Pontet Canet and d'Armailhac. The vines have an average age of 30 years. The grape varieties consist of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvesting is carried out by hand.

Flagship cuvées

The estate primarily produces the Château Pibran cuvée, a red wine. It also produces the Château Tour Pibran cuvée. The Château Pibran vineyard blend in 2002 comprised 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. Annual production is around 90,000 bottles.

Vinification and ageing

Harvesting is carried out by hand, with grape sorting on tables in the cellar. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wines are aged in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months, with 50% new oak renewed each year.
