Château Sissan is a winegrowing estate situated in Camblanes-et-Meynac, in Gironde. The property is owned by the Yung family, who acquired it in 1990.

History and philosophy

Château Sissan is part of Vignobles Yung. The Yung family has owned the estate since 1990. The Château Sissan site is home to a 17th-century residence.

Appellations

The estate produces wines under the Bordeaux blanc and Côtes de Bordeaux appellations.

The estate is located at Château Grimont, 33360 Camblanes-et-Meynac. The estate can be contacted by telephone on 05 56 20 86 18.

The tasting cellar and shop is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 16:30. It is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

The vineyard (terroir)

The Château Sissan vineyard extends across the communes of Camblanes and Quinsac. The grape varieties planted in the vineyard include Merlot (55%) and Cabernets.

Signature cuvées

Château Sissan produces several cuvées. Château Sissan Blanc is a still white wine with a pale yellow colour and green tints. On the nose, it offers fruit aromas (citrus, white peach) and floral notes (white flowers, lemongrass). On the palate, it is characterised by its liveliness, balance, and a lemony finish. Annual production for this cuvée can reach around 6,500 bottles.

Château Sissan Grande Réserve is a red cuvée, crafted from a blend of Merlot (55%) and Cabernets. Another cuvée produced is Château Sissan Rosé.

Vinification and ageing

The white wines of Château Sissan are aged in vats.
