The vineyard (terroir)

The Château Soleil vineyard extends over an area recorded at between 15 and 20 hectares. The soils consist of a clay-limestone plateau. The grape varieties are dominated by Merlot (between 80% and 85% depending on the source), complemented by Cabernet Franc (between 10% and 10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (between 5% and 10%). The average vine age is approximately 30 years. Harvesting is carried out by hand.

Flagship cuvées

The estate produces red wines. One of the cuvées is called Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion Promesse.

Vinification and ageing

Fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled concrete vats on a plot-by-plot basis. Ageing lasts between 18 and 24 months. The proportion of new oak used for ageing ranges between 50% and 80% depending on the vintage, reaching up to 80% new barrels.
