The vineyard (terroir)

The Clos 19 Bis vineyard covers a total area of 2 hectares. It comprises a 1-hectare parcel in the Graves appellation, in the commune of Illats, and another 1-hectare parcel in the Sauternes appellation. The red grape varieties in Illats consist of 40% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The white grape varieties grown in Sauternes comprise 70% Sémillon, 10% Sauvignon gris, 10% Sauvignon blanc, and 10% Muscadelle. The average vine age is 52 years. Harvesting is carried out by hand.

Flagship cuvées

The red wines include a Graves as well as Vin de France bottlings such as "Les Ongles Noirs" and "Mi-Chemin Rouge". The "Les Ongles Noirs" cuvée is crafted from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. The white selection features a Sauternes, a Vin de France Blanc Sec, and a Vin de France named "Mi-Chemin Blanc". The Sauternes is made from Sauvignon, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. Annual production of the Sauternes cuvée is around 600 bottles.

Vinification and ageing

The wines are crafted using a natural winemaking approach. Grapes are harvested by hand.
