The Vineyard (Terroir)

The vineyard covers an area of 16 hectares, including 6 hectares planted with red grape varieties and 4 hectares with white grape varieties. The vines, with an average age of 40 years, are planted on terraces on the Saquier hillside, at an altitude ranging between 400 and 600 metres. Harvesting is carried out by hand. The estate is certified biodynamic by BIODYVIN and holds Ecocert organic certification. Red grape varieties include Braquet (Brachet), accounting for 33% of the red plantings, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. For white grape varieties, Rolle accounts for 100% of plantings.

Flagship Cuvées

Among the estate's iconic cuvées, the Vino di Gio Rouge cuvée, crafted from Folle noire, reveals limestone notes, nuances of pencil lead, rosewood, and sweet spices. The La Belletan cuvée, made from Braquet, stands out for its profile of ripe fruit and minty spices, offering an airy, delicate red wine. The estate also produces a Rosé de Braquet, described as distinctive, saline, and invigorating, with a mango finish. The Le Clos Rouge cuvée is crafted from Folle noire and Grenache. The Le Clos Blanc cuvée, based on Rolle, displays a bright, saline character. The Vino di Gio Blanc cuvée is characterised by its structure and tension. Special bottlings such as Gio Grenache and Gio Syrah are also produced.
