History and philosophy

For nearly thirty years, Christine Perey has been advising clients in the technology sector. Her career began with activities such as editing and writing for the QuickTime Forum from 1991 to 1993, as well as founding the QuickTime Movie Festival. From 1993 onwards, she served as a leading advocate for personal video communications, contributing to the development of the market for digital video adoption.

In 2005, she co-authored the market research report "Personal Mobile Video Communications" published by Wainhouse Research. The following year, in 2006, she conducted research and authored two market reports for Informa Telecoms & Media, entitled "Mobile Social Networking: Communities and Content on the Move" and "Mobile Social Networking: Business, Technology and Mobile Operator Strategies". In 2007, Christine Perey co-founded Mobile Monday Switzerland.

Since 2006, Christine Perey has focused her expertise on augmented reality. She has participated in numerous ISMAR conferences as both a volunteer and an attendee. In 2009, she chaired the W3C workshop on the future of social networks and also chaired the mobile committee of the ISMAR 09 conference, where she led the Mobile Magic Wand Augmented Reality workshop. Since 2009, she has been actively involved in AR standardisation initiatives, contributing to the establishment of common frameworks and specifications for interoperable AR.

In 2011, Christine Perey co-founded the Internet of Things Zurich Meetup Group. She also founded the AR for Enterprise Alliance (AREA), an industry consortium dedicated to the enterprise adoption of AR, which she led as Executive Director until 2016. Since 2018, she has been a founding partner and board member of Open AR Cloud, an industry association dedicated to developing open and interoperable spatial computing data technologies and standards. She is also the founder and organiser of the Swiss Augmented Reality Meetup Group.
