The vineyard (terroir)

The Domaine Champs de Lalande vineyard covers a recorded surface area of 1 hectare or 3.70 hectares. The soils are clay or clay-gravel in composition. Soil management is carried out by ploughing. Harvesting is carried out by hand, and the estate also conducts manual sorting using a vibrating sorting table. The grape varieties planted are Merlot (90% or 95%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%).

Flagship cuvées

The estate offers a cuvée named “MILLÉSIME 2020”. The ageing potential of this wine is estimated at between 5 and 15 years or more. It is best served between 16 and 18°C, ideally after breathing for one to two hours before the meal; decanting is also recommended.

Vinification and ageing

Bottling is carried out at the estate. Ageing takes place over an 18-month period, in vats with a 25% proportion in oak barrels at each racking. Optimal cellar ageing conditions are maintained with 75% humidity and a stable temperature of around 11°C.
