The terroir

The Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion appellation is located just north of Saint-Émilion, on the Right Bank of the Dordogne. The vineyard extends across the commune of Saint-Georges-Montagne and is characterised by predominantly clay-limestone soils. These rolling, hillside terroirs benefit from favourable sun exposure that contributes to optimal grape ripening, moderated by a temperate oceanic climate.

The wines

Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion wines are exclusively red. The main permitted grape varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot generally dominates the blend, imparting roundness and fruity aromas, while the Cabernets bring structure and ageing potential. These wines stand out for their balance and elegance, underpinned by refined, silky tannins.

Wines from Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion lend themselves to a wide variety of food pairings.
