The story of Château Montaiguillon began in 1949 with its purchase by Abel Rigou. That same year, extensive renovation work was undertaken. Subsequently, the estate was handed down to the second generation, represented by Geneviève and Roger Amart, and later to the third, Chantal and Monique. During the 1950s, the estate developed its Belgian market. In the early 2000s, international expansion gathered pace. The fourth generation, Mathieu and Oliver, now ensures continuity. Château Montaiguillon holds HVE certification for its sustainable environmental practices.

Château Montaiguillon produces wines under several appellations, notably Montagne-Saint-Émilion. Several parcels are also situated in the Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion appellation, dedicated to the cuvées Château Vieux Montaiguillon and L'Apogée de Montaiguillon.
