The estate was established in 1882 by Monsieur Mauléon-Rouchut, bringing together plots from Clos de l’Église and Domaine de Clinet. Initially named Clos L’Église-Clinet, the property was renamed Château L'Église-Clinet in 1950. The first commercialised vintage was 1955.
The vineyard is farmed according to the principles of lutte raisonnée (sustainable viticulture), using organic fertilisers.

The Grand Vin is Château L'Église-Clinet, a red wine characterised as rich, elegant and captivating, showing elegance, freshness and depth, with satiny tannins and floral notes of violet and peony. It offers significant ageing potential, typically starting to show its best after ten to twelve years.
The estate's second wine is La Petite Église.
Vinification and Ageing
The harvest is carried out by hand by an experienced team. Vinification involves complete destemming of the grapes. Ageing lasts 18 months in oak barrels, with a proportion of new wood that varies depending on the vintage.
