History and philosophy
The name Château La Lande Saint Jean comes from a plot farmed by the Manaud family for five generations. Historically, the vineyard was part of the estate of château Labatut, built between the 13th and 14th centuries. Over the centuries, the property was primarily passed down from father to daughter, through the Baudet, Faux, Roulet, and Manaud families. François Manaud joined the estate in 1949.
Laurent Guibbert took over winegrowing operations in 2011. The estate cultivates its vines with deep respect for the environment.

Saint-Loubès : le château de La Lande Saint-Jean se prépare pour ses premières portes ouvertes
Le Château de La Lande Saint-Jean, situé à Saint-Loubès et exploité par Marie-Isabelle et Laurent Guibbert, se prépare à participer à ses premières journées portes ouvertes, organisées ce dimanche par douze châteaux viticoles de la presqu'île. Le couple, qui représente la cinquième génération de la famille Manaud à cultiver ces terres, a repris l'exploitation de 25 hectares en 2011 et a été rejoint par Marie-Isabelle il y a deux ans. Le domaine produit du Bordeaux Supérieur rouge, un rosé demi-sec, du jus de raisin et une cuvée sans sulfites, avec 80% de la production destinée à un négociant et le reste à la vente directe. Depuis 2019, la production est en biodynamie. L'initiative de ces portes ouvertes, lancée par le Château Sainte-Barbe d’Ambès, a séduit les propriétaires du Château de La Lande Saint-Jean qui voient l'occasion de partager leur passion et leur savoir-faire. Au programme, des dégustations, des explications sur la vinification et l'élevage en fûts de chêne. Le couple Guibbert a également prévu des animations pour les visiteurs, incluant des ateliers pour enfants avec la céramiste Sabine Pascual, une exposition des tableaux du peintre Claude Abdi, la présence des poneys du pôle équestre de Saint-Sulpice, et une tombola où chaque château participant proposera des lots. Face aux aléas climatiques récents, comme les quatre gels printaniers en cinq ans, le Château de La Lande Saint-Jean a diversifié ses activités depuis un an, cultivant également des pommes de terre biologiques et produisant du foin. Le Château Chelivette à Sainte-Eulalie participera également à ces portes ouvertes, proposant un food-truck bio et un concert de clavecin. Les douze châteaux participants sont : Tour de Gravelin (Ambarès), Sainte Barbe (Ambès), Muscadet (Bassens), Chelivette (Sainte-Eulalie), Esther, Graves de La Laurence, Haut-Tellas, La Lande Saint-Jean et Reignac (Saint-Loubès), Peychaud (Saint-Louis de Montferrand), Vincent et la Vrille têtue (Saint-Vincent-de-Paul).
