Château Lagrave is owned by the Masse family. The estate undertook a major renovation of its manor house in 2018.
The vineyard is managed using sustainable viticulture, with particular care given to short spur pruning, moderate fertiliser application, controlled grass cover, as well as debudding and leaf removal.

Château Lagrave produces wines under the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation for its principal cuvée and Saint-Émilion for its second wine.

The vineyard (terroir)
The vineyard covers 9 hectares in a single continuous parcel. The vines have an average age of 25 years. The soils consist of gravelly sand at the surface, resting on subsoils of clay and iron pan (crasse de fer).
The grape variety mix is dominated by Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Flagship cuvées
The estate offers two main cuvées. Château Lagrave Le premier is made predominantly from Merlot, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is vinified in concrete vats, with a maceration period of approximately one month, before ageing in 225- and 400-litre French oak barrels.
The second wine, Château Lagrave Le second, is primarily composed of Merlot, with a proportion of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its vinification also takes place in concrete vats, with maceration lasting around 20 to 25 days, followed by ageing split equally between vats and French oak barrels.
Vinification and ageing
Vinification is carried out in concrete vats for both cuvées. Maceration for the main cuvée lasts about a month, while that of the second wine takes between 20 and 25 days. Ageing for Château Lagrave Le premier takes place in 225- and 400-litre French oak barrels. For Château Lagrave Le second, ageing is divided between vats and French oak barrels.
