Château Mazeris is a winegrowing estate located in Saint-Michel-de-Fronsac. The property is owned by the de Cournuaud family, represented today by Jean and Amandine de Cournuaud. Jean de Cournuaud also acts as the estate's oenologist and viticulturist.
History and philosophy
Château Mazeris was established in 1769. The estate marked its place in history with a mention in the 1846 Cock & Féret edition. Over the generations, the property focused on the production of red wines. In 2018, Jean de Cournuaud took over management of the estate, representing the tenth generation of his family at the helm of Château Mazeris. The estate is committed to sustainable and eco-responsible viticulture, employing practices designed to limit soil compaction and enhance biodiversity through natural cover crops. Château Mazeris achieved Level 3 HVE certification in 2020. The estate plans to open new dedicated tasting and sales facilities in 2025.

Merlot is planted on both the hillsides and the plateau, whereas Cabernet Franc is grown exclusively on the plateau. The vines are planted with a 1.5-metre row spacing, reaching a planting density of approximately 6,500 vines per hectare. Vineyard exposure varies according to parcel: east-west on the slopes and north-south on the plateau.
